Middle School Teacher G 6,7,8

Middle School teachers play a very integral part in the evolution of students. Preparation in examination, discipline and organization play important tools in the development of the student taking them to the next plateau. Duties performed and implemented by Middle School teachers are as follow:

• Establish and enforce rules for behaviour and procedures for maintaining order
• Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs
• Prepare, administer and grade tests and assignments in order to evaluate students
• Instruct through lectures, discussions and demonstrations in the core subjects
• Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and communicate these objectives clearly
• Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate
• Maintain accurate, complete and correct student records as required by rules and policies
• Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behaviour, social development and physical health
• Assign lessons and correct on timely manner
• Enforce school policies and rules governing students
• Meet with parents to discuss child progress
• Guide and counsel students
• Prepare reports on students from grades, class work and behaviour
• Use resource aids to full potential
• Meet with other teachers to discuss students’ needs
• Stay current with teaching methods and policies
• Assist in administrative duties when called upon
• Collaborate with other teachers and senior staff to develop programs for student betterment
• Attend professional development classes
• Attend all staff meetings
• Organize and label materials and student works
• Plan and supervise class projects
• Provide differentiated learning where needed
• Monitor and record student progress
• Create lesson plans
• Any other assigned duties
